What is "Physie"?

What is "Physie"?

Physical Culture (or Physie for short) is a unique dance sport for girls and women of all ages.

With clubs across the country, Physie is a perfect blend of Dance and Fitness. It combines ballet, pilates, and modern dancing to improve physical fitness, flexibility, co-ordination and posture. Our syllabus is specifically choreographed to improve core strength, coordination, fitness and flexibility.

EP Physie girls show strength, poise and elegance simultaneously.

Age groups

Girls from 4 years of age are welcome to join. Girls progress through the age groups until they reach 18 years of age and then have the option to choose the Senior, the Extended or the Ladies pathway option.

Ages are calculated based on their age as of the 31st of August that year.

Junior Physie - Ages 5–12

Girls learn the foundations of physie in a fun, supportive environment that builds confidence, coordination and a love for movement. Each class focuses on developing strength, flexibility, rhythm and performance skills while encouraging friendships and self-belief.

Teenagers - Ages 13-16

These classes challenge dancers to refine technique, increase strength and develop performance presence. Girls are encouraged to set goals, push themselves and take pride in their progress while being supported by teachers who genuinely care about their journey. In such a challenging developmental stage of life, physie provides a safe and fun environment for girls to be themselves and connect with their friends.

Senior Physie - 17yrs+

(Intermediate seniors- 17-20yrs, Open seniors- 21+)

Our Senior group represents the highest level of physie. These athletes are strong, focused and deeply committed to their training, setting the standard for excellence across the club. Classes are designed to challenge both physically and mentally, refining technique, strength and performance quality while building resilience, confidence and leadership.

Ladies - 18yrs+

Physie is truly a sport for life. Whether you’re continuing from school years or joining later, there are opportunities to keep fit, have fun and connect with our welcoming community. Our classes are divided into sections based on experience, ability and age. Each syllabus is designed to match each sections needs/ wants.
